Race Date: Monday 21st April 2025
A 7 mile race, mostly off road and flat, where runners are challenged to beat a steam heritage rail service from Peak Rail Rowsley South to Matlock Riverside station and back. Run along a scenic extension of the Monsal Trail. Organised by Matlock AC and Peak Rail, supporters can book a ticket on the train and be a part of the action.
Eleven Striders were among 216 finishers chasing the train at Peak Rail 7. The men’s race was won by Daniel Smith of Hillsborough & Rivelin RC in a time of 38:57.4. Jenny Cartmell, also of Hillsborough & Rivelin RC, won the women’s race in a time of 44:53.3.
