A delightful evening at Rother Valley with 21 Striders teams taking on the 5km loop around the lakes.

The results are still provisional at this stage but Striders had seven senior men’s teams competing, eight senior women’s teams, 3 mixed teams and 3 in the M60 category.

Pride of place goes to Caroline Brock, Leah Epton and Gillian Allen who finished second to a strong Hallamshire Harriers team in women’s race.  A close race in the mixed team event saw Yasmine Chaffer, Annie Chambers, Naeem Stevens and Jack Chambers finished fourth, also behind Hallamshire, and just ten seconds off a podium place.

Phil Mason was a very welcome addition to the M60 squad gaining a silver medal in his first ever relay competition, just 16 seconds behind a strong squad from Danum Harriers.

The F50’s were a fine third behind Barnsley and Penistone.

Karen Clark, Shelley Walsh and Mandy Taylor went one better for the F60’s, claiming the silver medal.

Hallamshire Harriers won both the men and women’s event, and Off the Couch fitness won the mixed event.
