Salzburg Running Festival result

Race Date: Sunday 18th May 2025

Salzburg is the fourth largest city in Austria. It’s on the west of the country with easy access from Munich in Germany. The city is very compact mostly due to the geography with hills all around. Bonus…it has a beautiful Parkrun.

Each year in May the city turns over its streets to a running festival. This festival contains a 10k, a half marathon and a full marathon (watch out though it’s twice round the half course). There are other events like a women’s only fun run on the Friday. Because of the compact nature of the city the whole place is full of runners. It has a good vibe as well.

This year four striders went to the festival and had a very good weekend. Graham Nield, Nicky Nield, Nancy Stuart and Richard Pegg attended. Richard did the half marathon while the others did the 10k. The race winners of the 10k were Florian Ganitzer 32.55 (male) and Annilka Leineweber in 35.49 (female) and for the half they were Dominik Hirczy in 1.08.12 (male) and Amelie Muss in 1.19.38 (female)

All agreed it’s worth doing (except the full with its killing twice round)
