Race Date: Saturday 29th November 2025
Distance: 13.2km (approx 8.2 miles)
The Baslow Bolt has become a staple event in my winter running. This year was my 3rd year taking part and it was part of the fell champs.
The route comprises of 13km of mixed terrain and 400m of ascent. Skirting around the Baslow skyline. It is a BM category fell race.
This year was particularly muddy which made the route very unforgiving. As always the route is fully marshalled and sign posted. The marshals are amazing as always (thank you).
All proceeds from the event go to Baslow St Anne’s Primary School PTFA and Baslow St Anne’s Church buildings restoration fund. This year it also support the homeless charity Shelter.
As always I was at the back of the pack. After finishing the race I was told I had won a RAB cap and I very much looked forward to the cuppa tea and cake. The cake selection has something for everyone, gluten free, dairy free, vegan.
Hopefully I will be back again next year.
The male race was won by Andrew Heyes of DPFR in 51.28. The female race was won by Lauren Hayes of Hallamshire Harriers in 1.01.35
