Race Date: 14th December, 2025.
Distance: Half Marathon.

The Keyworth Turkey Trot is a half marathon race starting and finishing in the village of Keyworth (in the South Nottinghamshire Wolds). The event is organised by Keyworth Group Scouts to raise much needed funds for Beavers, Cubs, Scouts and Explorers to participate in activities and gain new experiences.
South Wolds Academy host the race headquarters. There are 3 car parks within walking distance; parking charges are waived for runners and supporters. Number collection is on the day, with Beavers and Cubs assisting on the number collection desk. There is a bag drop available in the school hall, managed by the scout volunteers. There is no need to queue for toilets, as the organisers hire enough for the number of participants and supporters on the course.
The start and finish of the race are on a closed section of road, outside the school. The remainder of the route is on open roads, mostly on quiet country lanes. The route is similar in make-up to the Clowne Half, comprising pretty villages, with cheering crowds and long stretches of undulating country lanes, with minimal crowd support. The route, which includes 3 water stations, is marshalled by friendly scout volunteers and supporters, many wearing fancy dress.
The event offers a relaxed atmosphere with ‘no frills’. The emphasis is on enjoyment and inclusion. The Scout volunteers provide soup, sausage rolls and pizza (vegan options available) for runners, on completion of the course. Cakes are available to purchase. Free massage is available, provided by a local company. The Derby Runner are also on site, selling running attire at competitive prices.
The race was won by Alastair Watson (Notts AC) in 01:07:26 and Sophie Coldwell (Charnwood AC) in 01:19:38 .
