Race Report by Nick Ibbotson
The London Landmarks Half Marathon was an unforgettable experience from start to finish. Running through the iconic streets of London, surrounded by so many incredible landmarks, made this feel like much more than just a race — it felt like a celebration of running.
This race meant even more to me because I was running for the British Heart Foundation, and I managed to raise £650 for a cause close to my heart. Knowing I was running for something bigger than myself gave me extra motivation throughout the day.

Race day actually started in the middle of the night, with a 1:30am bus journey down to London. I was extremely tired before I even reached the start line, but I was determined to give it everything I had.
Once the race got underway, I felt strong and settled into a good rhythm. The course was incredible, weaving through London’s landmarks with amazing energy from runners and spectators alike. The crowd support was phenomenal from start to finish — the kind of support that lifts you when your legs start to feel heavy.
Then came an unexpected moment at around 7.5 miles… I fell over! 😂 Not exactly part of the race plan. But one of the things I’ll remember most is how people around me immediately helped me back up. That moment could have knocked me mentally, but instead it made me even more determined to get the job done.
From there, I kept pushing, fueled by the crowds, the atmosphere, and the thought of finishing strong. Crossing the finish line felt incredible — especially when I saw the time: 1:47:59, a new personal best and a PB smashed.

On to the next one.
The race was won by Stefan Otway in 1.08.31. First female was Katja Kostrencic in 1.22.13.
