Race date: Sunday 8th February 2026
Race report by Ruth Mountford
The Hardwick Hobble takes place in the grounds of the National Trust property, Hardwick Hall. Competitors complete as many 6.03km as they can over 6 hours.

Strider Ruth Mountford (Tucker in results) took part on the second day of the Winter Event – there’s also the option to do the Summer Event in June which Ruth has already signed up for:
So, the mud was really bad: so much so that a couple laps in, despite it being a trail run they were even warning people a few laps in and asking them if they were okay to proceed. One guy slipped and dislocated his shoulder. But really good bunch of runners. Marshals were fantastic and so were the offerings from the aid station. They apparently do a different portrait medal each time too. All in all a lovely lovely race atmosphere hence the repeat sign up!

I went round the house after I had cleaned up (lots of wet wipes and towels later) and managed to find my medal portrait so was chuffed about that.
