Race date: Saturday 24th January 2026
Race report by Kay Skelton
I entered the Tissington trail 3 weeks prior to the race. It was a bit of a midlife/impulsive decision! I turned 40, 2 days afterwards.
The drive over was pleasant, as was the weather. I was a little stressed about getting parked, but I made it to the start with 10 minutes to spare. Toilet queues were thankfully small.
At the start of the run are a couple of staggered gates that act as a pinch point. Once I was through those it was a pleasant run, not too busy with other runners or members of the public.

The run is an out and back. The first half is a steady incline, which meant a nice downhill for the second half. I paced myself well, I aimed for 2 hours 5 mins. My chip time was 2:05:15. A personal best for me. A good half for a PB, friendly and well organised.
The winner was Andy Taylor (no club listed) in 01:17:47. The first woman was Vicky Brotherton from Totley AC in 01:32:29. Kay Skelton was the sole Strider there.
