Race Date: Sunday 22nd March 2026
The Wakefield Hospice 10k is decribed as a run with a difference. It’s an award-winning race that brings runners together to raise vital funds for the Wakefield Hospice.
Previously being awarded the Best 10k in the North title, the route starts and ends in Thornes Park Athletic Stadium taking runners out towards Horbury and back again on the same route. Some have described the first half as a steady uphill climb, with the second half allowing the opportunity to push the pace with many achieving a PB as a result. There is also a 5k option available too, for those looking for a shorter race.
2343 runners participated in the 10k. The race was won by Mark Bostock of Wakefield District H&AC in 31:01. The first female finisher was Jade Dos Santos of Victoria Park Harriers & Tower Hamlets AC in 36:21.
