Race Date: Saturday 27th December 2025
There were 8 teams involved in the Winter version of the Dronfield relays, very ably organised by Phil Howson.
When asked for a race report, for once, Phil had few words for me. In fact all I got was, ‘Just another fun jog round Dronny, with a beer at the end’. It’s a great low key event that would benefit from a bit more support. Let’s hope there’s more interest in the Summer version on Sunday 12th July.
The race is handicapped with the slower teams heading out earlier and has the intention of a grand finale finish. For the edition, the winning team in 2.21.47 was The Thursday Units.
The Striders team which was the joint second team to leave the start, finished in 5th place with an overall time of 2.28.38.
Striders Results:
Leg 1 Time 56.01 (Leg Pos 7th) – Loz Harvey & Mandy Taylor
Leg 2 Time 52.51 (Leg Pos 6th) – Laura Rangeley & Jo Gleig
Leg 3 Time 39.46 (Leg Pos 1st) – Rob Hoffmann & Ben Elliott
There was also the option of doing the whole route of around 15 miles of which 5 runners including 3 Striders took the opportunity to do. Again, there was a handicapped start. The fastest round was Kevin Walker in 1.53.45 but the actual winner of the handicapped race was Jim Rangeley whose 25 minute head start on Kevin was enough (by 6 minutes) to lead him to victory.
Striders results:
| Pos | Name | Time |
| 1 | Jim Rangeley | 2.13.36 |
| 3 | Paul Hargreaves | 2.51.15 |
| 4 | Alex Briggs | 2.52.15 |
