Every Monday night from Heeley there are two groups that we call ‘Slower Groups’ that will receive special attention regarding routes and coverage of leaders by use of rotas.

The aim is so that we make a commitment to only running the pace and distance we advertise on the website on the Monday night Heeley page for these groups and to provide progression steps to the faster groups.

Beginners Group: A slow 5.0 mile run in around 75 mins

Slower Group: A slow 6.0 mile run in around 75 mins

Beginners Group (5 miles in 75 mins)

This group will be specifically targeted at 5-10k and C25k graduates as well as new runners, to be as steady and supportive an environment as possible.

We are going to use a series of 5 set routes per time of year for this Beginners Group.

So around 5 miles in at least 75 minutes (approx 14:00 min/mile depending on the route).

There is obviously the chance of 10 routes as all the above could be run in reverse.

To support the investment in this group, we have a rota of volunteers that will lead the group and provide support.

Slower Group (6 miles in 75 mins)

We are going to use a series of 6 set routes for the Slower Group.

So 6 miles in around 75 minutes (approx 10:00 min/mile to 12:00 min/mile depending on the route).

There is obviously the chance of 12 routes as all the above could be run in reverse.
