Steel City Striders are adhering to the Government’s guidance about coronavirus, whilst encouraging all our members and friends to remain active and support local charities.

#strideforsheffield is our virtual event which invites everyone – walkers, runners and cyclists – to post details of their daily exercise and support Sheffield’s foodbanks and the Cathedral Archer Project.

Since we launched #strideforsheffield we have clocked up 2500 miles between us and raised over £1000 for the charities.

Welcome to Steel City Striders Running Club – for over 35 years we have been the friendliest running club in Sheffield (#thesocialclub) and organisers of the hugely popular Percy Pud 10k race every December for over 25 years

We welcome new members, aged 18+ at any time of the year. Whether you’re a new runner and training for your first race or an experienced runner you are welcome to join us or try any of our training sessions for free under no obligation.

Each and every week we run evening sessions from Hillsborough, Heeley, Graves, Millhouses and Woodburn Road track, plus a daytime session on Tuesday from Millhouses. With all training sessions lead by fully qualified and experienced England Athletics Run Leaders and Coaches.

There will be no pressure or hard sell to join as we want you to be sure we are the right club for you.

Some members within the club like to race and are very competitive, but many come for the social aspect and just enjoy running with company at their own pace. Whatever type of person you are, you are more than welcome and we will support you.

If you have any questions, please check out our Frequently Asked Questions.

Steel City Striders are fully affiliated on Road, Cross Country, Trail and Fell with members regularly racing both locally and nationally in all disciplines. You will also see us every Saturday morning supporting the Parkrun scene.

As a club we are also very proud to continually support local charities, community projects and good causes.
