Race Date: Tuesday 17th November 2015
I was asking for trouble when I added ‘be careful crossing busy roads’ to the race instructions – and so we had our first car collision last night – luckily the car was not moving (apart from the drivers door) but Will Gardner was moving quite rapidly downhill at the time. Check Will Gardner’s FB page for the story and a picture!
The weather did its best to drown us and blow us away but 46 brave souls took to the streets in the 2nd race of the series. There were some very good times given the conditions with several people getting PBs but no new records this year. There were also some very bad runs – we know who you are Tim Rutter!
And despite my best efforts to persuade people to thoroughly study the map 3 people went wrong – AND they’d all run the race before!
12 or so people joined in with the Fish and Chip supper followed by a few pints in the Closed Shop.
See you all at the next race
Well done to the 6 Striders who braved a wet, stormy Tuesday evening to run this race. I don’t have times and I’m not sure whether they are actually recorded but places are. The male winner was Oli Williams and the female winner was Anna Hoogkamer.
