Race Date: Saturday 25th July 2015

The Lakeland 50 is a 50 mile ultra that takes in the second half of the Lakeland 100 course. It starts from the Northern end of Ullswater within the grand Dalemain Estate before following the Eastern shore line as far as Howtown. A quick climb and descent followed by a trek along the banks of Haweswater sees you at Mardale Head. The route from here visits Long Sleddale, Kentmere, Ambleside, Langdale and Tilberthwaite before the final climb and descent to the finish at Coniston.

The 50 mile race was won by Jayson Cavill of the Ultra-Runner.com Trail Team in 08:04:24. The first lady home was Sally Fawcett of Dark Peak Fell Runners in 08:43:43, enough to claim 4th overall too.

Our strider at the event was Mark Gray, finishing 30th out of 615 runners in 09:47:50.
