Race date: 18th June 2016

A cool, overcast morning greeted a lone Strider for the inaugural running of The Ladybower Trail Marathon. Perfect weather conditions, however, could not help this under-prepared, slightly hungover runner. A shocking performance (it was me, don’t worry) saw him drop from 19th at the halfway point to 40th overall.

Not a bad route (apart from the huge climb halfway round), a fair bit of road involved in this ‘trail’ marathon, though.

1st over the finish line was Matty Brennan in a time of 3.03.37. 1st lady was Elly Woodhead in a time of 3.31.36.
