Race Date: 5th March 2017

The Irwell 20 is a 20 mile event on trails in the Irwell Valley. Billed as ideal preparation for a spring marathon or a challenge in it’s own right, it took place this year on 5th March.

The race was won by Matt Bond of Sale Harriers in 1:56:09 and the winner of the women’s race was Lisa Grantham of Pensby Runners in 2:35:43.

Whilst many Striders were running a measly 9 miles in Norton, Caroline Woods-Peel took on this challenging race, finishing in 4:10:11.
