Long Distance Strider (LDS) January 2018 Update

LDS is back for 2018! Here are the current standings as at the end of January. I can almost smell the sweat and embrocation from here.

So far 110 Striders have clocked up a cumulative 1,325.7 competitive miles in the first month of the year.

In the ladies’ competition, last year’s runner-up Nicole ‘Ultra’ Brown has taken the lead by posting an early ultra in the Hardmoors 30. Ashleigh Barron and Jo Taylor are tied in joint second place, with two-time and reigning champion Naomi Rabin just 0.3 of a mile behind.

The mens’ field is being led by John Armitage, with Michael Squires and Mick Timm tied in joint second just a mile behind. Last years, and also two-time champion, Nick Burns is back in tenth place, but with plenty of racing to go, I’m sure Nick will be climbing the leaderboard before long.

All entries into LDS come from Striders’ own race results pages, so if it ain’t on there, it ain’t on here. If you see any errors or omissions, please let me know, and I’ll correct the record.
