Race date: Sunday 24th February 2019
This particular race took place in brilliant weather tinged by a little mist – they don’t have fog in Clumber – and followed a stupendous sunrise. Great running conditions.
Once again, the wildlife was out in force, including swans and a powerful lot of geese (according to a Chilean I met recently, “think big, angry, ducks” which turns into the spookily appropriate acronym, BAD). This run is a great introduction to trail running – very friendly and supportive.
Chris Kilburn crossed the line first in a great 34:29 and the first lady home was Nicole Peters in 40:03. About 262 runners competed.
6 striders (as far as I know) completed the race with Sam turning in a great performance to grab second place. The full results are here
