This was the 38th Rowbotham’s Round Rotherham Run which is organised by Rotherham Harriers and Althetics Club.   It’s a 50 mile ‘undulating’ trail race with 800m of climb round the Rotherham boundary.   Some runners enter as a relay team (11 teams this year) involving 8 legs usually run by one runner, but some clubs run in pairs.  Most entrants do the entire 50 miles solo as an ultra (155 this year).

The race was won by Rory Harris MV40 in a time of 6hr 48:29, and by Susan Keens FV40 (Maltby RC) in a time of  8hr 31:05.  Two Striders ran the ultra.   Helen ran an extremely consistent race, gaining positions in the last 2 legs, finishing 4th FV40.  Simon had a incredibly fast run but retired about half way round.
