2025 Tiger’s Trail Fell Race Report & Result
Race date: 16 April 2025
Report by Darrel Porter
Tiger’s trail fell race is run by Totley AC, it’s a 10km race with 259m of elevation. This year the race registration was at the Fox House pub, and the start and finish were at the base of Houdkirk Road meaning the whole race was on trail. Six striders joined the 196 runners at the start line.
The race runs up Houndkirk Road and then descends towards Sheephill Road and a very rocky trail, the route takes advantage of this by then sending the runners back up a massive hill towards Lady Cannings Plantation. The route then runs through the plantation before heading back onto Houndkirk road and then towards Burbage. The final descent over burbage is a fast and rocky a fun, flowing technical trail.
Overall this was a great little fell race, navigation was straight forward, the ground was mostly dry and the trails whilst technical in places were easy to follow, this is probably one of the best local races for an introduction to the fells!
The race was won by John Crewe of Dark Peak (41:35) and Fran Collett of Dark Peak (42:36).
Well done to Harriet Davis who bagged 2nd female senior!
