Race report by Hannah Wright
Me and my mum always enjoy a day out in Buxton. The Carnival did not disappoint. We arrived early to Buxton to grab some brunch, a wander round the market stalls and listen to some live bands.
The race started at 1.45pm from New Wye Street, near the town centre Waitrose Car Park and started by the Buxton Well Dressing Festival Queen.
It is a 4 mile road race through the streets of Buxton. The streets were lined with packed crowds celebrating Carnival day which provided an amazing atmosphere.
The runners started just ahead of the Carnival procession and finished on the Market Place.
After the race I caught some of the Carnival procession and enjoyed the rest of the sunny day in Buxton.
