Race Date: Saturday 27th – Sunday 28th September 2025
Rob Hoffmann took on the Cheshire Ring 100 Mile, forging together the Bridgewater Canal, Macclesfield Canal, Trent & Mersey Canal. The website says it’s actually 102 miles with 1132 feet of climb. At only 11 feet per mile, it’s a pretty flat one.
This is his race report, ‘I really enjoyed this race adventure and most of the suffering that came with it’.
There were only 83 finishers. Surprisingly there were 15 DNS. I don’t understand paying £199 for a race and not even starting it. Some must have more money than sense. There were 41 DNFs who made a start but 100 miles is gruelling and obviously takes its toll along the way.
The male race was won by Charles Thull (unattached) in 16.07.36. The female race winner was Fiona Cook of West Cheshire AC in 16.32.54. Massive congratulations to Rob Hoffmann on his completion.
