Race Date: Saturday 5th July 2025
A 4.7-mile summer trail race through the Moss Valley Derbyshire, starting and finishing from the Annual Coal Aston Summer Gala.
This is an achievable yet still challenging route through the stunning Moss Valley, primarily it follows PROW (public rights of way) through farmland and woodland, with one small ford crossing, 4.7 miles / 7.5km with 600ft / 180m climb.
Really great event organised and highly publicised by Phil Howson on behalf of DRC. If you never knew about this race, where have you been for the last 6 weeks?? This was in inaugural event and it sits nicely with the Coal Aston Gala.
It had the best selection of free cake that I have ever witnessed and we were treated to a fly past from an old WWII Hurricane fighter plane. Many thanks to Phil, DRC and all the volunteers.
There were 91 finishers with the male race being won by Sam Gilson of Rotherham Harriers in a blistering 26.13. The female race winner was Sue Atkinson of DRC in 35.38.
