Race Report by Hannah Wright
The Heroes 10K is an event raising money to support the armed forces.
It was a beautiful Sunday morning as I headed over to Manvers. Perfect running conditions for a light trail.

Swans enjoying the weather at Manvers
The aim of the race is to run, roll or walk the 2 lapped course round Manvers Lake. It’s an inclusive event for everyone, from beginners tackling their first distance run to friends seeking a group challenge, or experienced runners ready to push beyond their usual routes.
It was great to see such an inclusive event, the marshals were fantastic and the atmosphere was lively. I particularly enjoyed the guy leading the warm up… he had everyone motivated.
The route was light trail and undulating with some lovely views of the lake. I was very impressed with the goodies at the finish line:
- Heroes 10k sweatband
- Finishers medal
- Water bottle
- Miniature luxury bath products
- Haribo
I had a great time and will be back next year.
