Time for a weekend of sun and seaside on the east coast with my mum. The Grim up North event runs over two days and follows an out and back route along the scenic Trans Pennine Trail with a variety of distances to choose from.

The elevation is flat (ish) but it felt like a long drag on the out section. Mixture of good trail and tarmac underfoot. The weather held out with sun throughout the weekend.

Hannah Wright, the only Steel City Strider at the event, completed the 20 mile route with a chip time of 4:41:18
