Race Report by Tony Bell
This is one of my favourite racewalks of the year, the Lancashire Walking Club “Lambert Trophy” 1 hour track race at Bury. No finish line, whoever walks furthest in 1 hour wins. No hills and no road traffic to worry about.
In the absence of the fast walkers I took the lead from the start, I was soon clear and after a few laps I started to lap walkers, soon lapped everyone up to 4th. The challenge with this race is to lap as many as possible but I was finding hard going to lap 2nd and 3rd. I speeded up at the end and got into the same straight as 3rd when the hour was up.

Very tired on finishing, nice to win but it would have been nicer to have got past 9000m.
Tony was the sole Strider among nine racewalkers who lined up for No Finish Line. As reported, our own Tony Bell won with a distance of 8918 metres. Pat Evans was the only female competitor, logging a distance of 7694 metres.
