Four Steel City Striders (Caroline Brash, Simon Gleadhall, Martin Downham and Chris Smith) ran the magic of a perfect summer evening at The Rockingham Chase! July 30th, 2025, as the hosts Rotherham Harriers put on another unforgettable event as part of the KMR series.
We all enjoyed a brilliant and beautiful 5k out-and-back route, winding its way out towards the picturesque Wentworth and back again. Imagine the golden light of a warm summer evening casting long shadows as you pass through the stunning landscape.
This course is designed for everyone, whether you’re aiming for a personal best or simply soaking in the joyous atmosphere and stunning surroundings. The Rockingham Chase is more than just a race; it’s an experience. Feel the energy of your fellow runners, enjoy the sense of community, and make lasting memories under the twilight sky. It’s the ideal way to make the most of that lovely warm summer evening, combining healthy activity with pure enjoyment, followed by a chip butty for all runners.
There were 157 runners altogether. The male race winner was Matthew Daly of Worksop Harriers in 18.04. The female race winner was Hannah Miller also of Worksop Harriers in 19.17.
