On a blustery day a run along the Northumberland coast from Bamburgh is going to be even blusterier but this didn’t stop Luke Tipping getting a podium finish on this undulating and highly rural course. Described by Luke as simply disappearing over the horizon as soon as the gun went, winner of the men’s race was Carl Avery (Morpeth) with 01:10:02. Carl has quite a pedigree finishing fourth at the Great North Run this year with a time of 01:02:57 and credits to his name in numerous races across the country over the years. First woman was Rachel Price (Unatt) 01:29:20. The event had 431 finishers with our very own David Bownes toughing it out to finish as second M70.
