The final Northern League match of the season saw Yasmine Chaffer running at Berry Hill, Mansfield in the red of Hallamshire Harriers. Kicking off with the 800m she was rewarded yet with another PB of 2:38.5 showing a steady improvement over the year. Only two hours later she was on the track again in the 1500m rallying over the second half of the race to finish with 5:34.3.

Seth Kirby, who frequently runs for City of Sheffield and Dearne, didn’t run at his club’s match at Moorways, Derby but is down to compete in their National Athletics League match at the Alexander Stadium, Birmingham on the 16th August.

Steel City aren’t declared to run track and field so it’s quite above board to compete at this discipline for another club. Keep your eyes open for any open meetings coming up and it might be worth considering your options for next season as both Hallamshire and Sheffield are on the look out for reliable athletes who can do a job for them.
