Race Date: Sunday 7th September
Located near Church Wilne, southeast of Derby, the Wilne 10k was race 9 in this year’s Striders Road Champs.
The route is one and three quarter laps of closed lanes, all tarmac and flat; a long northwest drag along the mostly straight Sawley Road, turning back in nearby Draycott for a return down winding Wilne Road.
It was a nice morning but warm for racing. The build up was well organised, with plenty of parking in the same field as the race HQ.

Finishers were awarded a technical tee, protein bar and bottled water.
Twenty-five Striders were among 998 runners who lined up at Wilne. The men’s race was won by Kurt Taylor of Bristol and West AC in a time of 00:29:59. Emma Pick of Peel Road Runners won the women’s race in a time of 00:35:01. Well done to Strider Louise Rowley, 1st F70!
