York 10K – 3rd August 2025

Three Striders made it up to York for the Jane Tomlinson event, with over 5000 people completing the race.  It is described in the official blurb as being “widely regarded as Yorkshire’s most scenic 10K”  (any views on that?) and it is most definitely a flat course.

Leading the charge for Striders was Sam Ainscough – a man who runs Parkruns in exotic locations like Norway, Poland and Hillsborough.  There are even rumours that he featured in the Look North coverage of the event later the same day.

Cameron Newton and Jayne Newton also ran well to finish in the top half of the field.
