Please note: as the majority of our training runs are in the evening or after dark, for your own safety please wear high visibility clothing otherwise you won’t be able to run with us. The Tuesday speed sessions are designed to help you improve your race times, endurance and stamina. The sessions are designed to be as inclusive as possible (as a rough guide, if you can run a 5k in under 35 minutes you should be able to comfortably participate) and are ideal for those who are new to speed work, but we do expect you to turn up ready to work hard and be able to complete the session as set by the Run Leader. They are popular with those training for half and full marathons.

The sessions differ each week and include a warm up, exercises such as short and long repetitions, hill work and fartlek runs.

The session is run on the roads surrounding the park until there is enough light in the evening to use the surrounding trails and the park itself at the beginning of April until the autumn.

As with all Striders training runs, they are completely free and newcomers are more than welcome to attend to try us out under no obligation. Please, do come along and give us a try.
